The City of Rock Falls is seeking bids for a contract focused on watermain improvements. This project involves the construction of approximately 13,175 feet of new water service for 335 customers, which includes the installation of around 234 new curb stops and boxes.A pre-bid meeting is scheduled for August 18, 2026, at 10:00 A.M. at the City Hall, where bidders can learn more about their responsibilities and the contract details. Bids cannot be withdrawn for 120 days after the opening without the consent of the City of Rock Falls.This contract is partially funded by a loan from the Illinois Environmental Protection Agency and is subject to various regulations, including the Davis-Bacon Act and the Employment of Illinois Workers on Public Works Act. Bidders are required to make affirmative efforts to utilize disadvantaged business enterprises at least 16 days prior to the bid opening.The City of Rock Falls reserves the right to reject any non-responsive or non-responsible bids. All work must be substantially complete within 210 calendar days, with final completion within 270 calendar days from the Notice to Proceed.
