SOLICITATION TITLE: 6541 Design-Build Services for West Hempstead & Winfield Substation Replacements  Description of Goods or Services to Be Bid: The Work of this Contract includes rehabilitating the exterior south-facing brick             façade at 4th Avenue-9th Street Station in the borough of Brooklyn. The station is             a historic viaduct station located on 10th Street between 3rd and 5th Avenues,             serving the F and G trains on the 6th Avenue line.        B. The scope of the Work is summarized as follows:   1. Removal and replacement of all existing brick veneer west of the westerly       control tower;   2. Replacement of missing brick veneer west of the westerly control tower;   3. Repair of existing concrete;   4. Repair of existing steel framing;   5. Replacement of all existing window assemblies;   6. Replacement of all steel lintels west of the westerly control tower;   7. Removal, repair, replacement, and re-setting of existing limestone coping       stones west of the westerly control tower;   8. Removal of existing sidewalk shed;   9. Removal of existing metal panels at platform windows; 10. Removal of existing metal grilles at mezzanine; 11. Cleaning of existing brick veneer at westerly and easterly control towers. Special Instructions: This contract includes the opportunity to receive an Enhanced Utilization Credit, which is designed to incentivize the use of MWBE firms that have had limited or no opportunity to engage in contracting with the MTA. The Enhanced Utilization Credit Initiative (EUCI), offered by the MTA in partnership with Empire State Development, allows an additional fifty percent (50%) credit toward the utilization of EUCI-eligible firms for this Contract.
