KUB has created detailed storm plans to better prepare our systems, resources, and supporting technologies in the event of a forecasted storm or unplanned event. When an outage occurs, KUB immediately deploys resources simultaneously to ensure public safety and to determine the nature and extent of damage to the electric system. KUB has trained internal Damage Assessment teams and Site Safety Attendants that are deployed as needed to safely support and expedite the public safety, damage assessment, and outage restoration processes. However, at times, resources from outside contractors are needed to assist in the areas of Damage Assessment/Circuit Patrolling, Site Safety, and Drone Operation. Knoxville Utilities Board (KUB) would like to extend the opportunity to execute a multi-year agreement (ending 10/1/26) with qualified contractors to provide Emergency Electrical Distribution Damage Assessment and Wire Guarding Services on an as needed and will call basis. The agreement will not be exclusive and may be offered to other contractors at any point during the term of this agreement. The agreement will provide predetermined pricing and dispatch / communication channels to help facilitate KUB in providing a rapid response in case of emergencies. It will allow for annual pricing updates, but it will not provide any regular daily system maintenance work or capital construction work. Interested parties should read the attached invitation letter and email abbey.marshall@kub.org to request the contract documents.
