Friendship Hollow Road South Bridge Projects

Sealed bids are being sought for the provision of all labor, materials, equipment, and services necessary for the Friendship Hollow Road South Bridge projects in Smith County, Tennessee. Bids will be received until 10:00 a.m. Central Standard Time on Thursday, September 17, 2026, by the Smith County Highway Department in Gordonsville, Tennessee, where they will be publicly opened and read aloud. Bids sent by mail should be directed to the Smith County Highway Department at 200 JMZ Drive, Gordonsville, Tennessee 38563, to the attention of Mr. Mickey Barrett, Smith County Road Commissioner.The work includes tasks such as clearing and grubbing, traffic control, sediment and erosion control, work zone dewatering, demolition and disposal of existing bridges, weathered rock removal, construction of reinforced concrete slab culverts and wingwalls, structural backfilling, riprap placement, and guardrail construction. All construction must be coordinated with the Smith County Highway Department and existing utility owners. The total time allocated for construction is 180 calendar days.Bidders must deposit security with their bid as specified in the Information for Bidders. Companies with five or more employees must comply with the T.C.A. 50-9-113 Drug-Free Workplace Law of 2001. Bids cannot be withdrawn within 60 days after the scheduled receipt time. All bidders must be licensed General Contractors as per Tennessee Code Annotated 62-6-119 and qualified for the type of construction being bid. Bids must include the contractor's license number, expiration date, and applicable classification on the envelope. The owner reserves the right to waive informalities or reject any or all bids. Bids must be signed and cannot be accepted via fax or email. Copies of the Contract Documents can be obtained from Mid-Tenn Engineering Company for a nonrefundable fee of $100 per set.
