CITY OF YAKIMA MUNICIPAL ENGINEERING SERVICES REQUEST FOR STATEMENT OF QUALIFICATIONS The City of Yakima is inviting Statements of Qualifications (SOQ) from firms interested in providing professional engineering design and surveying (as needed) services for the following NHS Asset Management grant funded project: City of Yakima 2027 Milling and Overlay Project – S. 1st Street (Walnut St. to Pacific Ave.) and E. Yakima Avenue (6th St. to the Yakima River Bridge). Improvements will include the milling and overlaying of these 5-lane roadway sections. This work will also include ADA ramp improvements, sidewalk, curb and gutter replacement, water and storm drainage replacement, street lighting, environmental documentation, etc. Surveying of the area has not occurred. The design for the City of Yakima 2027 Milling and Overlay Project is intended to be designed in 2026-2027. The city of Yakima reserves the right to retain the services of the successful firm(s) for any subsequent phases (R/W, CN) associated with this project. This project has a Zero percent FSBE goal. The contract type for this project shall be a Negotiated Hourly Rate agreement. These improvements are intended to be constructed in 2027. SOQs shall be limited to ten (10) pages front and back and shall include the following information: key personnel, design experience with street rehabilitation and utility PS&E, project design approach, familiarity with City of Yakima and WSDOT standards, experience with federal funded projects, and past performance/references. Statement of Qualifications will be evaluated on a competitive basis using the above criteria. The City will score the received Statement of Qualifications and will conduct interviews. SOQs shall be received by 10:00 a.m., September 17th, 2026, by email to Dana Kallevig, City of Yakima Chief Engineer at Dana.Kallevig@yakimawa.gov .
