New Gymnasium Building at Somerville High School

The Somerville Public School District Board of Education is inviting bids for the construction of a new gymnasium building at Somerville High School, along with all related work as specified in the bid documents prepared by Fraytak Veisz Hopkins Duthie, P.C. (FVHD), Architects-Planners. Bids will be accepted for a single overall contract, and bidders must be classified in the appropriate disciplines as of the bid opening date. A pre-bid meeting is scheduled for Wednesday, September 9, 2026, at 10:00 AM at Somerville High School, located at 222 Davenport Street, Somerville, NJ 08876. Attendance at this meeting is highly recommended, although not mandatory. Bidders must submit all Requests for Information (RFI) in writing by September 18, 2026, to info@fvhdpc.com, or via fax to 609-883-2694, or by common carrier to the Architect's office. All correspondence should include the project name and number. Sealed bids are due by Thursday, October 1, 2026, at 2:00 PM, and should be sent to the Somerville Public School District, Attn: Bryan Boyce, at 51 West Cliff Street, Somerville, NJ 08876. Bids will be publicly opened and read immediately after the deadline. Any bids received after this time will be rejected. Bidders must submit two copies of their proposals in separate sealed envelopes, clearly marked with the contract title and/or bid number. Each proposal must include a bid bond or certified check for 10% of the bid amount, not exceeding $20,000, and a Certificate of Consent of Surety. Bidders must be pre-qualified by the New Jersey Division of Property Management and Construction (DPMC) if their bid exceeds $20,000. This project is subject to the New Jersey State Prevailing Wage Act, and all bidders must comply with applicable laws regarding registration and certification. No bids may be withdrawn for 60 days after the opening date, and the right to reject all bids is reserved.
