Arab Alleyway Improvements

Sealed bids will be accepted by the City of Arab until 3:00 P.M. on Thursday, September 10, 2026, and will be publicly opened at Arab City Hall. The work involves the construction of the Arab Alleyway Improvements project. The contractor must coordinate with the City and local businesses to remove existing air conditioning units before starting demolition. The existing pavement will be demolished carefully to avoid damage to utilities. The contractor will also coordinate with utility companies for the installation of a new water line, meters, storm drainage, sanitary sewer service cleanouts, and the relocation of the natural gas line. Additional work includes installing pavement, hardscape, steps, and improvements as detailed in the plans, including new wrought iron handrails and storm drainage connections. There will be no pre-bid meeting mentioned. Bidders must comply with various federal regulations and submit a list of similar projects completed in the last five years. Nonresident contractors must provide evidence of a current Alabama General Contractor's License and other necessary documentation. A security deposit of at least 5% of the bid amount is required, and bids cannot be withdrawn for 60 days after opening.
