Raritan Valley Habitat for Humanity, 58 Main Street Excavation Project

Raritan Valley Habitat for Humanity is inviting bids from qualified contractors to perform excavation services at 58 Main St., Franklin Twp., NJ 08873. The project involves site clearing and excavation for a 3-bedroom, single-family home that will be built on a concrete slab, which means there will be no basement. The work includes full site clearing, grading, excavation for slab and foundation preparation, backfilling, and the supply and installation of a silt fence for erosion control. Additionally, the contractor will be responsible for the excavation, installation, and connection of sanitary sewer lines.Sealed bid proposals must be clearly marked with "Raritan Valley Habitat for Humanity, 58 Main Street Excavation Project" on the outside of the mailing envelope as well as on the sealed bid envelope. Bids can be submitted by mail to PO BOX 330, Pluckemin, NJ 07978 or delivered in person (Monday to Friday, 9 AM to 5 PM) to 285 US Hwy 202/206, next to Pluckemin Presbyterian Church, Bedminster, NJ 07921.Bids will be accepted until 4 PM on September 9, 2026. The bids will be opened immediately after the submission deadline. This project is funded by HUD HOME and administered by the Somerset County Community Development Office. A requirement of the grant is to receive three bids to ensure adequate competition. If three bids are not received by the due date, Raritan Valley Habitat for Humanity will not open the submitted bids and will extend the bidding into a second round with a new due date. If, after the second round, fewer than three bids have been received, the bids will be opened and the process will continue. If three bids are received by the original due date, they will be opened and the process will proceed without the need for a second round.
