Construct Health Innovation and Research (HTEC) Building

The State University Construction Fund (SUCF) is seeking Statements of Qualifications (SOQs) from consultants to provide design and construction administration services for the Construct Health Innovation and Research (HTEC) Building project at the State University of New York at Albany. The Project will construct a new, approximately 63,000 GSF, multi-story building to serve as a dynamic, multidisciplinary center designed to advance research, education, and innovation in health sciences and technology. The building will bring together diverse fields, including biology, chemistry, engineering, public health, and nursing, and will serve as a catalyst for interdisciplinary education and workforce development.  The Project will also strengthen partnerships with key regional stakeholders, including healthcare systems, biotechnology companies, and the New York State Department of Health. The new building will be located adjacent to the Science Library.  The building is expected to provide chemistry and biology laboratories and support spaces, as well as classrooms.  The Project will also include a geothermal wellfield and heat pump equipment, as well as additional space in the basement to house future equipment for a campus thermal energy network. An embedded program study will be required for the project. The available budget will determine the building’s final square footage and programmatic elements, which may result in a different footprint than outlined above.  The construction value is estimated to be approximately $136,000,000.
