Town of Searsport RFP Consulting Services Evaluation of Nature-Based Solutions for Shoreline Stability

The Town of Searsport, Maine is seeking proposals from qualified consultants to conduct an Evaluation of Nature-Based Solutions for Shoreline Stability focused on protecting critical municipal infrastructure from the impacts of coastal erosion, flooding, sea level rise, and increasingly severe storm events. The project will assess three vulnerable waterfront sites, including Mosman Park and two municipally owned sewage pump stations, and will develop vulnerability assessments, conceptual nature-based or hybrid shoreline stabilization designs, cost estimates, and implementation recommendations aligned with Maine's climate resilience goals. In addition to technical analysis, the selected consultant will collaborate on community outreach, educational workshops for coastal property owners, and a public presentation of findings. The Town encourages multidisciplinary teams with expertise in coastal resilience, engineering, planning, and landscape architecture. Funding for the project is provided through Maine's Community Resilience Partnership Program. Proposals are due by 5:00 p.m. on September 17, 2026, and will be evaluated based on qualifications, understanding of project issues, methodology, responsiveness, and cost.
