Mason Inlet Hydraulic Dredging and Beach Nourishment (2026-2027)

New Hanover County is accepting sealed bids for the following project: Mason Inlet Maintenance Project 2026-2027. The base bid work includes hydraulic dredging of approximately 376,000 cubic yards of shoaled material from Mason Inlet, Mason Creek, and the AIWW, with subsequent placement on the southern beachfront of Figure “8” Island. An additional 75,300 cubic yards of dredging seaward of the COLREGS line is also included as an optional bid item. Should the contractor have equipment capable of performing the work. Bidding on the optional work is not a requirement. The work also consists of shaping and grading the beach and monitoring environmental concerns.
