PGC-Object Storage Solution

The Polar Geospatial Center intends to purchase an object-based storage solution that can handle at least 40PiB of usable capacity initially with the ability to scale as funding and requirements increase. The goals of this RFP are to have a reliable and modernized storage platform with an eye toward performance and a growth pathway. These data are primarily remote-sensing imagery data and digital elevation products. The data is accessed often and should be treated as almost nearline storage, not as a deep infrequently-used archive, with the requirements described in the “Workflow” section of the RFP. There are two design paths that will be considered, a cloud (with optional on-premise hybrid) solution, and an on-premise only solution.   Respondents are prohibited from contacting the identified department about this RFP while in process.   Before submitting questions about the RFP via the Questions Tab, read and review the Supplier Process and Information Attachment and ALL Attributes in the Attributes Tab, especially Background and Project Summary/Scope of Work. These provide valuable information and address frequently asked questions.   Remember to submit your response, including attachments, early to allow time to correct errors. The submission deadline is a hard close. The system will reject responses with errors and will NOT allow late submissions.
