Request For Bids For Snowplowing Services For Shrewsbury Borough

Sealed bids are being accepted at the Shrewsbury Borough office located at 35 W. Railroad Ave., Shrewsbury, PA 17361, until 3:30 p.m. on September 8, 2026. The bids will be publicly opened and read at that time. The contract will be awarded at a regular meeting of the Shrewsbury Borough Council on September 9, 2026, at 7:00 p.m. or thereafter. All bid envelopes must be sealed and clearly marked "BIDS FOR SNOWPLOWING SERVICES FOR SHREWSBURY BOROUGH" on the outside and can be placed in the drop box outside the Borough Office or mailed to Cindy Bosley, Secretary for Shrewsbury Borough, at the Borough Office. Bidders can obtain bid forms and specifications by contacting the Shrewsbury Borough Office at (717) 235-4371 during business hours, which are Monday through Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. The work involves providing vehicles and labor for snowplowing designated roads in the Borough from October 1, 2026, to September 30, 2027. Bids should include the price per hour for the driver and truck (minimum 33,000 GVW) equipped with at least an 11-foot wide power reversible snowplow and spreader. Service providers must respond to plowing requests within 90 minutes of notification and will be guaranteed a minimum of 4 hours of plow time per request. The successful bidder must provide proof of insurance and sign an indemnity agreement with the Borough. A surety bond or cashier's check of $500.00 must accompany all bids as performance security. The Borough reserves the right to waive any technicalities or informalities and to reject any and all bids. No bidder may withdraw their bid for 45 days following the bid opening.
