Large Meter Testing & Repair

Sealed bids are invited for a project involving Large Meter Testing & Repair. Bids must be submitted to the Procurement Manager by 4:00 P.M., Eastern Time, on September 15, 2026, and will be publicly opened at that time in City Hall Conference Room 436, located at 415 Broad Street, Kingsport, TN. All bids will be evaluated for potential award or rejection at a later date.Minority and Women-Owned contractors are strongly encouraged to participate in this bidding process. A bid bond or certified check amounting to five percent (5%) of the total bid is required, with checks made payable to the City Treasurer, City of Kingsport. The successful bidder must provide acceptable Performance and Payment Bonds equal to one hundred percent (100%) of the contract price. All bidders are required to be licensed Contractors as per the Contractors Licensing Act of 1994 (TCA Title 62, Chapter 6).To ensure the bid is opened, the sealed envelope must include the Contractor's license number, expiration date, and relevant classification details. If subcontractors are involved, their license numbers and expiration dates must also be provided, particularly if the value of work exceeds specified thresholds. If no subcontractors are used, this must be indicated on the envelope. By submitting a signed bid, the bidder certifies compliance with Title VI and Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 and related regulations. Bids cannot be withdrawn for sixty (60) days following the submission deadline. All bids should be addressed to the Procurement Manager at the City of Kingsport, 415 Broad St., Kingsport, TN 37660, and clearly marked as "Large Meter Testing & Repair." The City reserves the right to accept or reject any bids and to re-advertise as necessary.
