Project Title: Perimeter Security Fence Installation – El Camino Real / Railroad Right-of-Way Base (1803 el camino real, San Carlos, ca. )Location: El Camino Real Corridor (Adjacent to Stafford St. / Railroad Right-of-Way), San Carlos, CA (1803 el camino real, San Carlos, ca. )1.0 Project Objective & Scope of WorkThe Contractor shall furnish all labor, materials, equipment, tools, and supervision necessary to remove designated existing perimeter barriers and install approximately 185 linear feet of high-security, anti-climb fencing. The new fence line will secure the District's property perimeter along the El Camino Real right-of-way, terminating securely into the existing structural fence lines. 1.1 Key Work Elements Site Verification: The Contractor must verify the exact limits of the fence removal and installation with the designated District Representative prior to commencing any physical work or ordering materials. Security Continuity: The Contractor must maintain a completely secure and continuous fence line around the facility at all times during non-work hours. Temporary security fencing, if utilized, must be robust and firmly anchored to prevent unauthorized site access. Existing Fence Integration: The Contractor shall securely attach the new high-security fence infrastructure to the remaining (existing) fence lines to guarantee an unbroken, secure perimeter. Site Remediation: The Contractor is responsible for repairing any damage to the surrounding asphalt, soil, landscaping, or utilities resulting from the execution of the work. 2.0 Material & Technical SpecificationsAll materials supplied for this project must be new, commercial-grade, and conform to the following specific structural requirements: Fence Fabric: Ameristar Wireworks anti-climb mesh. Height: 8 feet. Mesh Grid Spacing: 3 in.×0.5 in. . Gauge: 10.5-gauge wire. Finish: Polyester powder-coated (Black). Line & Terminal Posts: High-strength I-Beam posts. Dimensions: 3 in.×2.75 in.×12ga. or 4 in.×2.75 in.×12ga. depending on structural load distribution. Finish: Polyester powder-coated (Black). Horizontal Rails: Impasse style rails. Dimensions: 2 in. square × 11-gauge. Finish: Polyester powder-coated (Black). Access Control: Provide and install one (1) pedestrian gate configured per project specifications. Provide and install one (1) main vehicle/service gate positioned as indicated on the project drawing. Main Gate (Vehicle Access) Configuration: 14-foot double-swing gate (consisting of two 7-foot gate leaves). This width provides ample clearance for standard utility vehicles, pickup trucks, and maintenance equipment to safely enter the site. Material & Finish: Constructed to match the main fence line—using the same 8-foot-high, black polyester powder-coated anti-climb wire mesh infrastructure to maintain a uniform security profile. Hardware: Heavy-duty commercial-grade drop rods (for both leaves), industrial hinge assemblies capable of handling the gate weight without sagging, and a secure latching mechanism compatible with a heavy-duty padlock or District-standard access control.Pedestrian Gate Configuration: Single-swing pedestrian access gate (typically 3 to 4 feet in width to meet standard egress requirements). Material & Finish: 8-foot-high framework matching the black anti-climb wire mesh and rail specifications of the main fence line. Hardware: Industrial-grade self-closing hinges, a robust latch assembly, and integration capabilities for standard mechanical locks or proximity card readers as required by the District's security framework.3.0 Structural Foundations & Installation Standards Footing Depth: All new fence post footings must be excavated to a minimum depth of 36 inches below finished grade.
