Sale of Drummond Building and Property

Sealed bids are being accepted by the Jefferson Township Board of Education for the purchase of the Drummond Building and related property located at 31 State Route 181, Lake Hopatcong, New Jersey. Bids must be submitted by 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, September 22, 2026. The buyer will take possession of the property, excluding the generator and personal property owned by the Board of Education, which may be removed prior to the sale. The Board reserves the right to waive irregularities in the bidding process and to reject any bid if deemed necessary. Bids must be mailed or hand-delivered to Rita Oroho Giacchi, Business Administrator, during official business hours. They should be in a sealed envelope marked 'Public Bid for Purchase of the Drummond School.' Bids must be received before the public opening time, and emailed bids are not allowed. The property consists of approximately 11 acres with a one-story school building of 12,410 square feet. The sale will be a cash transaction with no contingencies. Each bid must include the name of the bidding entity and the bid amount, along with a certified check or money order for $100,000. The bid security will be returned to unsuccessful bidders, and no bid may be withdrawn for 60 days after the opening date. A Contract of Sale will be awarded to the highest responsible bidder, pending formal resolution by the Board.
