Student Transportation Services

The Paramount Unified School District (District) is soliciting proposals from qualified student transportation providers to furnish home-to-school and related transportation services for approximately 325 general education and special education students attending District schools and approved non-public schools/programs.Services shall include, but are not limited to:-Transportation of individual students and small groups using sedans, minivans, SUVs, wheelchair-accessible vehicles, and other appropriate vehicles.-Transportation for students requiring specialized accommodations, including wheelchair transportation, booster seats, car seats, harnesses, and other supports identified in a student's Individualized Education Program (IEP).-Provision of qualified, properly licensed, and SPAB-certified drivers, where applicable.-Compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local laws, regulations, and California Department of Education requirements governing student transportation services.-Real-time communication and coordination with District staff, parents/guardians, and school sites regarding route schedules, delays, cancellations, incidents, and service changes.-GPS-enabled route management and vehicle tracking capabilities.-Driver background checks, DMV Pull Notice participation, drug and alcohol testing programs, safety training, and ongoing compliance monitoring.-Vehicle inspection, maintenance, cleaning, and safety programs sufficient to ensure reliable and safe transportation services.-Support for students with disabilities and students requiring language accommodations.-Compliance with District student safety requirements, including applicable provisions related to mandated reporting, professional boundaries, and student protection.The initial contract term is anticipated to commence during the 2026-2027 school year, with options for annual renewals as approved by the District's Board of Education. The District reserves the right to award a contract based on best value and overall benefit to the District and its students.
