Custom Furniture (FF&E) for the Technology & Health Building

The new four-story Technology and Health Building at Mt. San Antonio College will bring together programs currently spread across six separate locations, including modular buildings, the Health Careers facility, and the existing Technology buildings. This transformative 273,000-square-foot facility will support 10 departments and 26 academic programs, consolidating them into a single, innovative learning environment. Not only will this be the largest building on Mt. SAC’s campus, but it will also be the largest instructional facility of any community college in California. Furniture Design Philosophy: The furniture design philosophy for the Technology and Health Building is rooted in supporting a dynamic, forward-thinking educational environment. Furniture is thoughtfully selected and strategically placed to showcase the identity of each program, creating visually distinct, branded spaces that reflect the character and purpose of the disciplines they serve. To promote student engagement, the design emphasizes flexibility—offering a variety of seating styles, collaborative workstations, and inviting social zones that encourage interaction, collaboration, and informal learning. Inspired by professional and industry environments, the furnishings convey a modern, innovative aesthetic that prepares students for the expectations of their future careers. At the same time, every piece is chosen with durability, ease of maintenance, and user comfort in mind—ensuring a long-lasting, adaptable, and accessible experience for both students and faculty. This thoughtful integration of function, form, and flexibility fosters innovation, supports diverse learning styles, and strengthens the connection between education and real-world application. It is the goal that furniture for this project must align with the standards of a leading global company that operates within a multi-cultural and diverse environment.
