Demolition and Backfill of Former Residential Structures

Macoupin County, Illinois is seeking sealed bids for the demolition and backfill of two former residential structures located at 239 East First South Street and 227 East First North Streets in Carlinville. Bids must be submitted in a sealed envelope to the Macoupin County Clerk – Election Offices at 227 East First South Street, Carlinville, Illinois 62626, by 2:00 p.m. prevailing time on September 2, 2026. A pre-bid meeting is scheduled for Wednesday, August 26 at 10:00 a.m. at the project site, starting at 239 East First South Street. All bidders are encouraged to attend this meeting for a walkthrough of the site. Bids must include a properly completed proposal form in duplicate, a bid deposit of 5% of the base bid, and must comply with the prevailing wage rates as determined by the Illinois Department of Labor. Bid documents can be viewed and downloaded at www.mmlpplanroom.com, and hard copies are available at Macoupin County with prior arrangement. Bidders must submit a notarized certification confirming they are not barred from bidding due to any violations. The contract prohibits discrimination based on race, color, creed, national origin, gender, age, or any other basis. Bids must also include a bid bond, bank draft, certified check, or cashier's check for 5% of the base bid. The successful bidder will be required to provide a Surety Performance Bond and Labor and Material Payment Bond, each equal to 100% of the contract cost within ten days after acceptance. Macoupin County reserves the right to reject any or all bids and to waive any irregularities. No bid shall be withdrawn for 60 days after the opening without written consent.
