Construction Manager Services: Construct New Hospital Annex for the Emergency Department, Burn Unit and Surgery & Construct New Hospital Annex for Emergency Department, Burn Unit and Surgery (DEOMLITION)

The State University Construction Fund is seeking statements of qualifications from firms to provide Construction Manager (CM) Agency services for the following projects at the State University of New York Health Science Center at Syracuse:  Construct New Hospital Annex for the Emergency Department, Burn Unit and Surgery (Project 151309-01)Construct New Hospital Annex for Emergency Department, Burn Unit and Surgery -Demolition (Project 151309-05) Project 151309-01 will construct a new hospital annex focusing on a new emergency department, burn unit and surgery suite located in immediate proximity to the existing hospital complex. This state-of-the-art facility will include a surgical suite with operating rooms (OR’s), a sterile processing department (SPD), as well as intensive care unit (ICU) and burn unit beds along with necessary mechanical spaces. It will also feature a partial imaging suite with medical and diagnostic imaging, catheterization labs, and interventional radiology. It is contemplated that a connection(s) will need to be made to the existing hospital. The design will include capacity for future expansion. Project 151309-05 will demolish Clark, Jacobsen, Bio-Ethics and Campus Activities Buildings. Clark Hall and Jacobsen Hall, constructed in 1965, are eleven story, 75,911 GSF buildings with a basement. Bio-Ethics building, constructed in 1991, is a two-story, 4,300 GSF building. Campus Activities Building, constructed in 1968, is a five-story, 62,000 GSF building. There have been limited renovations in the buildings since they were originally constructed.  The scope of work will fully demolish Clark, Jacobsen, Bio-Ethics and Campus Activities Buildings and prep the site for construction of the New Hospital Annex. The Project will include removal of all hazardous materials, building systems and structures, relocation of site utilities feeding the buildings, and restoration of the resulting site in anticipation of the New Hospital Annex building. Submissions should emphasize the firm’s significant past experience in providing CM Services for public institutions and institutional clients in a complete and expeditious manner.
