FRESH BREAD AND BAKERY PRODUCTS The Bridgeton Board of Education, in cooperation with Fairfield Township School District, is seeking competitive sealed bids from qualified vendors to supply Fresh Bread and Bakery Products for the school food service programs for the 2026-2026 school year. The districts operate a shared food service program and require coordinated deliveries and billing.    1.  ...... Sealed bids for the furnishing of Fresh Bread and Bakery Products to the Bridgeton School District and Fairfield Township School District for the 2026-2026 school year will be received by the Board of Education of Bridgeton, County of Cumberland, State of New Jersey at 10:00 AM prevailing time on Wednesday, September 2, 2026.  Bids will be opened at the Thomas C. Lane Administration Building, 41 Jack Surrency Way, Bridgeton, N. J. 08302. 2.    .... Bidders shall be responsible to carefully examine the enclosed specifications.  Failure to offer and complete the entire bid, or to meet all requirements of this invitation, shall be deemed just cause for rejection of the bid as not meeting the specifications.  Bidders are solely responsible for the accuracy of their bid prices and their prices cannot be changed due to any error made by the bidder after the bid is opened.  Bidders shall honor all prices.  Failure to do so shall result in disqualifying the bidder from future bidding and may constitute legal action by the Bridgeton Board of Education. 3.         All bids must be submitted on the attached bid forms and must be placed in a sealed envelope, plainly marked on the outside:  “BID – FRESH BREAD AND BAKERY PRODUCTS, DO NOT OPEN” OR Bids may be electronically submitted via the School District's e-Procurement Portal at https://procurement.opengov.com/portal/bridgetonk12nj  on or before the date and time indicated below.    4.   ..... Bid proposals submitted with strikeovers, figure changes with correction fluid, crossed out figures, etc. shall result in rejection for non-compliance.  All bid proposals must be submitted in a typed format.  Bidders must return a hard copy of their proposal, along with all the required completed documents enclosed, and indicated in the bid specifications for the bid opening.  No bids will be accepted which are hand written in order to avoid any disputes concerning the handwritten numbers. Requirements for Supplying and Delivering Bread and Bakery ProductsBridgeton Board of Education Food Service Department Deliveries are to be made on a five day per week basis unless specified differently herein. Daily delivery slips must include pricing and to be signed by the kitchen manager or their representative. If the contractor fails to deliver an ordered item, the Bridgeton Board of Education Food Service Department has the right to obtain the item on the open market. Any difference in cost between the open market price and the contract price shall be deducted from any monies owed to the contractor. If the delivery is going to be more than 30 minutes late, the contractor shall notify the school. The contactor will remove all delivery containers from each institution on each and every delivery day. Bridgeton School District will not be responsible for any delivery containers left at various locations and will not guarantee their safekeeping.  All such bread and rolls delivered shall be equal in all standards of quality and freshness to similar bread delivered to the vendors' general retail trade on the same day.  Frozen items will not be accepted. The bid must show the price per loaf, per dozen for rolls or each as specified. The bidder is also to provide the weight of each item and the packaging. Each unit must be the weight specified. The number of usable slices per loaf is not to include the heel(s) of the loaf. All bread shall be strictly fresh and made from the best quality of flour. Other ingredients shall include nonfat dry milk in the amount of at least minimum required pounds for each 100 pounds of flour, shortening and sugar required by the U.S. Government in their regulations in effect as of the time the bread is furnished. All ingredients shall be pure and of good quality. The loaves shall be well risen, of fine even grain, well baked and of excellent flavor. The crust shall be firm and of uniform good color. The bread, one hour after baking, shall not exceed specified percent of moisture content required by the U. S. Government in conformity with their regulations. The bread, when baked, shall score not less than the minimum rating required according to scoring standards of the American Institute of Baking in effect as of the time the bread is furnished. All items shall be delivered, sliced and wrapped in dust and moisture proof wrappers. Rolls shall be individually baked and must be sliced. They shall be made from the best quality of flour. All ingredients shall be pure and of quality flour. The rolls shall be well risen, of fine even grain, well baked and of excellent flavor.
