Demolition of The Stonerstown School Building

Liberty Township, Bedford County, PA is seeking sealed bids for the demolition of The Stonerstown School Building located at 400 13th Street, Saxton PA 16678. Bids will be accepted until 4:00 PM on Friday, September 4, 2026, and will be publicly opened and read aloud at that time. Bids can be mailed to Liberty Township PO Box 117 Saxton PA 16678 or hand delivered to the bid opening. All bids must be received by the specified deadline. The work involves the removal and legal disposal of materials and debris from the demolition of a 2-story brick school building. The first floor is 4239 sq. ft. and the second floor is also 4239 sq. ft., with a basement of 2100 sq. ft. Asbestos abatement has been completed. Detailed project descriptions and contract documents can be obtained from Liberty Township's Secretary. Photographs of the building are available. Bid packets can be requested from the township's secretary by calling or texting 814-515-6633 or emailing libertytownship16678@gmail.com with the subject 'BID PACKET REQUEST'. There is a $25 fee for paper bid packets to cover printing and mailing costs. A certified check or bank draft, or bid bond of 10% of the total bid amount must accompany each bid as a guarantee for contract execution upon acceptance. The successful bidder must provide 110% Performance, Labor and Material's Bonds, along with necessary insurance and permits. Liberty Township reserves the right to reject any and all bids and will base the contract award on cost, schedule, and bidder qualifications. Bids may be held for up to sixty days for review before the contract is awarded.
