RHTP Crisis Transportation Services

The Kansas Department for Aging and Disability Services (KDADS) is seeking competitive proposals from qualified vendors to provide a coordinated transportation service to support individuals experiencing mental health and substance abuse Crissies across Kansas. This initiative, aligned with the goals of the Kansas Rural Health Transportation Program (RHTP), is intended to strengthen the state's behavioral health crisis response system by ensuring timely, safe, and appropriate transportation in receiving facilities, while reducing reliance on law enforcement and emergency response departments for non-medical transport. It is the goal of this RFP to establish statewide crisis transportation services across all 105 counties within the State of Kansas. The Contractor will be responsible for delivering 24/7/365 transportation services, supported by centralized dispatch, vehicles appropriate for behavioral health transport, and personnel trained in behavioral health crisis response, including de-escalation and trauma-informed care. Services will be available through multiple referral sources, including 988 crisis lines, community mental health centers, hospitals, law enforcement, courts, and other authorized entities.
