Demolition of Existing Wooden Structure

Sealed bids are being invited for the demolition of an existing wooden structure over the Ravine Spring Chlorination facilities and for the partial replacement of the same under the specified contract. The work includes the removal of the existing wooden structure and proper disposal off-site, repairs to the existing stone/concrete foundation, and the construction of a new wooden deck over the Chlorination facilities. Additionally, there is a requirement for proper protection of existing Chlorination equipment and electrical facilities during construction, as well as coordination with the metal building manufacturer for the delivery and placement of the metal building on the completed deck. A mandatory pre-bid conference will be held at the office of the Owner at 1:00 PM local time on September 1, 2026. Bidders who do not attend this conference will not have their bids opened. Bids must be submitted by mail to the office of the Owner or hand-delivered on the night of the meeting. Milnes Engineering, Inc. will not accept or forward the bids. All bids must be received by the Owner until 2:00 PM local time on September 15, 2026, and will be publicly opened and read aloud at that time. Each bidder is required to review the site concerning the scope of work before submitting their bid. If the bid exceeds $25,000, a PA Prevailing Wage Determination applies to this project. Bidders must include a security deposit of 10% of the bid amount in the form of a certified check or bid bond. Liquidated damages will apply at a rate of $200 per calendar day. Bids must be submitted on the forms provided by the Owner. A Performance and Payment Bond for 100% of the contract amount must be furnished by the successful bidder prior to the contract award, along with a Certificate of Insurance naming the municipality as an additional insured. The Owner reserves the right to reject any or all bids and to waive any defects or irregularities.
