Fire Alarm System Upgrades at Collingswood Arms Apartments

The Collingswood Housing Authority is seeking bids for the upgrade of the fire alarm system at Collingswood Arms Apartments. This includes replacing existing fire alarm panels with new ones, installing new detectors, and relocating some detectors to comply with Code regulations. The existing wiring will remain intact, and new detectors will be connected to adjacent detectors.Bids will be publicly opened on Wednesday, September 9, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. at the Authority's offices located at 30 Washington Avenue, Collingswood, NJ 08108. Bidders should note that no bid may be withdrawn for a period of 60 days after the bid opening without the Authority's consent.Proposals must be submitted in triplicate and in a sealed envelope, clearly marked with the contract name and the bidder's information. Each proposal must include a Bid Bond from a licensed Surety Company or a certified check as specified. The required bid bond amount is 10% of the bid amount, not exceeding $20,000. Bidders must also submit affidavits as outlined in the Instructions to Bidders.Bid documents will be available starting Monday, August 17, 2026. Electronic copies can be obtained for free by emailing the architect at lgmestres@gmail.com. Printed copies are available for a non-refundable fee of $75.00, with additional mailing fees applicable. Bidders should allow three business days for processing.A non-mandatory pre-bid meeting will take place on Wednesday, August 26, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. at the Authority, with site tours available afterward. Site inspections are available by appointment only, requiring a 48-hour notice. Questions regarding the bid must be submitted in writing to lgmestres@gmail.com by August 27, 2026, with responses provided on August 28, 2026.All bidders must adhere to prevailing wage rates as mandated by HUD and submit a notarized affidavit listing all stockholders owning 10% or more of the corporation. The successful bidder will need to secure a Payment and Performance Bond from a licensed Surety Company.
