Bids can be submitted by mail to the City Clerk at P.O. Box 267, Gadsden, Alabama 35902-0267, or delivered in person to Room 401, City Hall, 90 Broad Street, Gadsden, Alabama. All bids will be publicly opened and read at the specified time and location. Specifications and contract documents are available for public inspection at City Hall. To obtain electronic specifications and contract documents at no cost, bidders should send an email request to ecoakley@cityofgadsden.com. It is mandatory for all bidders to be registered with the City of Gadsden Engineering Department; bids from unregistered bidders will be rejected. Bidders must include either a cashier's check or a bid bond with their submission, amounting to 5% of the bid or $10,000, whichever is lesser. The Owner reserves the right to reject any and all bids. The successful bidder must provide a Performance and Payment Bond within ten days of contract award and comply with all public works bid laws. Bidders must also provide evidence of a current license number. This contract is tax-exempt. All parties must affirm compliance with federal immigration laws and ensure non-discrimination in employment practices.
