Generator for Sheriff's Office/EMA

The St. Clair County Commission is seeking sealed bids for a public works project involving the installation of a natural gas standby generator set, rated not less than 150 kW, at the St. Clair County Sheriff's Office / Emergency Management Agency site. The project includes the removal of an existing diesel generator and its fuel storage tank, construction of a new generator foundation, and necessary electrical and gas piping work. An additive alternate for a new 1200-ampere automatic transfer switch is also included.A mandatory pre-bid conference and site visit will be held on September 2, 2026, at 7:30 a.m. central time at the work location. Bidders who do not attend this meeting will have their bids disqualified.Bids must be submitted to the St. Clair County Courthouse Annex #1, 165 5th Avenue, Suite 100, Ashville, Alabama, ATTN: Susie Washburn, by September 17, 2026, at 9:00 a.m. central time. All bids will be publicly opened and read aloud at that time. Bidders must include a bid guaranty of at least five percent of the bid amount, not exceeding $10,000. Performance and payment bonds will be required from the successful bidder.Each bidder must provide evidence of licensure under Chapter 8 of Title 34, Code of Alabama 1975, and include their current license number with their bid. The Commission reserves the right to reject any and all bids and to waive minor irregularities.
